One of the simplest approaches for using decorative letters is also one of my favorites! Simply use a statement-making letter alone on a wall such as this large galvanized letter “W”:

For a baby's room, I absolutely LOVE {these large wooden letters} that you can have personalized with your child's name and date of birth:

And you don't need to limit yourself to using a single letter. Putting several letters together to spell a simple word like “EAT” is such a fun addition to this kitchen: are fun to use in the kitchen:

They are big guys at 18″-20″ tall:

Place Decorative Letters on Shelving
I also love the use of one of these same statement-making galvanized letters as decor on a shelf:

In a baby's room, {these neutral fabric letters} are well suited to shelving because not only are they adorable, but you don't have any worries about injuries from decor falling off of shelving:

Hang a Large Letter on Your Front Door
Another fun idea is to use a single large letter as front door decor such as this polished whitewashed wood letter found {here}:

The household has also seen some polished wreaths that incorporative a decorative letter such as {this finished wreath} with faux hydrangeas and ferns:

Let Your Decorative Letters Be Freestanding
The preferred decorative letters found in my search are {these wine cork letters} from Desert Coastal Studios. Each letter is created with wine and champagne corks to create a freestanding work of art:
