A Stylish Round-Up: Round Mirrors
Treat this as a field note from one working house, not a showroom checklist. I'm a total sucker for a good round mirror because they can add so much to a space. They're well suited to softening a room that's full of hard angles, filling tough to decorate spaces like above the bed, and so much more.
Today, I'm sharing the preferred round mirrors and along with approaches for where to use thm in your home. If you're on the hunt for a round mirror, this post should help you find one you love! And you'll find some new approaches for using round mirrors you already have too! (post includes commissionable links; for more information, see my full disclosure statement {here}}
Round Woven Mirrors
Let's kick things off with round woven mirrors which are my favorites since A strong choice is coastal style! I added {this 32″ white + natural rattan round mirror} above the bed in our guest bedroom and love how much style it adds to the space:

Sources:Paint color | Ceiling fan | Curtain rod | Pinch pleat drapes | Queen beadboard bed (weathered white) | Blue & white gingham linen duvet cover | Blue & white gingham Euro shams | White linen box quilt and standard sham | Cane bench | Nightstand | Scalloped shade lamp | Tissue box cover | Faux coral

And I had {this rattan mirror} over our fireplace before we remodeled it and mounted a TV above our fireplace instead:

I also love the style of rattan edged mirrors like {this beauty} that's well suited to over a dresser or console. The simple combination of a round mirror over a rectangular piece of furniture works every time!

I used {this look for less version of that same rattan mirror} over the vanity in our powder room and have been really happy with it:

You can get more details and all sources for everything else in our powder room in my post bathroom shiplap. And if you're specifically looking for a bathroom mirror, also look at my post on bathroom mirror approaches.
And last but not least, I have {this 37″ rattan mirror} above {this dresser} in one of our bedrooms:

Other Sources:Dresser knobs | Blue & white lamp | Marble chain links | Art print | Faux cherry blossom branches
Round Wood Mirrors
We had {this large wood mirror} with the prettiest wood barrel frame above the fireplace in the living room of our last home. It comes in three different sizes (mine is the 30″) and four different finishes (mine is the natural):

Our living room was one of the darkest rooms in our house so having a mirror on the mantel helped bounce the light around and also reflected some of the pretty view out the large bay window directly across from it.
I'm also crazy about {this statement-making round wood mirror} in a warm graywash finish – so pretty! It comes in two sizes including a whopping 44″ option:

Also look at {this ball mirror} for a somewhat similar look in white.
There's no hard and fast rule for how large of a mirror to buy for over a console or chest but I tend to like the look of one that's about ⅔ – ⅚ the width of smaller furniture pieces and mirrors that are ½ – ⅔ the width of longer furniture pieces.
Round Mirrors with Metal Finishes
My oldest daughter's room had a 28″ round brass mirror over her desk similar to {this one} that's a great price and comes in other finishes too:

If you like the simple style of it but want a larger size, it also comes in five widths ranging up to 45″.
And if you like large metal mirrors but want one with a little more of a design element to it, in our master bedroom in our previous home, I had {this large round decorative mirror} with a fun little faux hook at the top that reminds me of an old-time pocket watch:

Other Sources: Dresser (an old wood dresser I painted with {this paint color} ) | Dresser knobs | Crystal lamp | Cherry blossom print – no longer available | Colorful moth art print | Grid box | Bust planter – thrifted | Gray drapes (blackout lined)
The mirror actually comes in a bronze finish but it blended in too much with my little girl planter head so I changed it up to more of a brass finish with {this gold leaf Rub ‘n Buff} which is one of the preferred Rub ‘n Buff colors. If you've never used Rub ‘n Buff, give it a try! It comes in lots of different finish options and is a super quick and easy way to change the look of metals.
To use it, I hung my mirror up, put paper behind it so the Rub ‘n Buff wouldn't get on my walls, and then went around my whole mirror rubbing in a small amount of Rub ‘n Buff around the entire metal edge using a rag. It literally took me less than 15 minutes to do. So definitely always something to think about if you find a metal framed mirror that you like in a finish that you don't.
Starburst Mirrors
The back of a bookcase is a great place for a small decorative round mirror – starburst mirrors are the preferred for this! In the home office of our previous home, I have {this starburst mirror} that is such a great pop against the black paint color:

I also have a starburst mirror as part of my art gallery wall on the other side of the room:

Home Office Sources:Desk (similar) | Rug | Semi flush mount ceiling light | Acrylic curtain rods | Drapes – no longer available
The mirror over the bed in the guest bedroom of our last home isn't exactly a starburst mirror but it has a similar look. It's {this polished round petal mirror} that's a great size for the space:

Other Guest Room Sources:Upholstered Wingback Bed (fabric is Zuma White) | Quilt (color is flax) | White and beige check duvet cover | 24″ Embroidered Medallion Pillow covers | 20″ White Tassel End Pillow Cover (similar) | White Bedside USB Lamps | Round Wood Beaded Tray | Clock
I you want a few other approaches for decorating the tricky space above a bed, look at my post on above bed decor.
Round Mirrors with Rope
Let's wrap things up with round decorative mirrors with rope! We had a small round mirror with rope hanging to the left of our door from the kitchen to the garage that we went in and out of a zillion times a day. It's a great spot for a quick mirror check as you run out the door:

Other Sources:Acrylic shelf | Gray & white rug | Doorknob
The exact mirror I have is no longer available but {this rope mirror} is similar.
So what do you think – do I have too many round mirrors? Wait… don't answer that!
Thanks as always for stopping by everyone!
