Living Room: House Tour

The household sequence below is the one that kept the room usable while it was unfinished. Continuing on the house tour, we'll take a peek at the other end of our combination living/dining room. As you walk into the space, the dining area that the household has already toured is to the left:

and the living room area is to the right:

The jumping off pieces for this side of the room were the slipcovered sofa and swivel chairs that I found at Paysage, one of the preferred home furnishing/design stores in Wilmington, N.C. The swivel chairs are so incredibly comfortable – definitely the most sought after chairs in the house!

Between the two swivel chairs is a Target Threshold side table topped with a Nate Berkus box (also from Target) that holds a set of wood inlay coasters that my husband and I bought in Sorrento.

The polished Galway crystal bud vase was a recent going away gift (thanks Karen – A strong choice is it!):

In between the sofa and swivel chairs is a long tufted leather ottoman – it sits atop a cowhide from Home Emporium that helps define the living area as a separate space from the dining area.

And every ottoman looks better with a tray on it, right?

Over the sofa is a rectangular twig framed mirror from HomeGoods:

that is framed by Restoration Hardware iron sconces:

The living room area isn't very large but it's the perfect, settled size for sharing some cocktails and conversation with one or two couples. When extra seating is needed, we pull over these two arm chairs that flank the chest in the dining room:

There's still a few things left on the to-do list for this room, one of which is creating a gallery wall behind the swivel chairs:

I also need to get a pillow or two made for the sofa with this Candice Olson fabric that the fabulous Sherry Hart found for me. Like a year ago. I'm good at dropping the ball like that.

Thanks for coming along for the tour of our living room!
